BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 6, 2000

Board members met in the Grandview Heights Public Library Conference Room

President called the board meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

MINUTES: Minutes from the May meeting were reviewed, corrected and approved.

OLD BUSINESS:

• Treasurer's Report: The June report was presented and approved.
• Subcommittee reports were given by board members:
  • Membership: New memberships were reported, and membership numbers were given
  • Technology: : New website address is ghmchs.org (the www is not needed). Old links will still work, as the server automatically relocates you.
  • Newsletter: Overwhelming vote of confidence in our newsletter was expressed by the Board. The theme of the next one will be pre 1950's sports and will be mailed about 10 days before school starts. The focus will be on Stan Jones, first coach of many high school sports; Miss Peterson, coach & teacher of girl's PE from 1925-1967; and Ralph Guglielmi. Our breezeway display will offer the same theme at that time.
  • Breezeway: Pat is working with Tracy on Field Day photos & hopes to have in place by the middle of May. He will work with Tom Wagenbrenner to see what Tom wants to keep in the display of the previous photos.
  • OHIO/2003: Tracy thanked those who came to Carmelita's program. It satisfied one of our requirements to become a Bicentennial Community.
  • Home Tour 2001: The President reported that a productive meeting was held. A "tour" blueprint is being developed.
  • Liaison Report:

    • CHAMBER No report

NEW BUSINESS

• Thanks to Pat and Tracy there is a new display in the breezeway. Pat received 2 separate contacts for information. One gentleman is bringing his family to Grandview in Sept. & wants Pat to help him with a historical walking tour. He ordered all of our publications which Pat has sent. Another gentleman will be back in Columbus the middle of June and with Pat's help will find out more about the Urlin family.
