BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 1, 1999
Board members met in the Board meeting room at the Grandview Heights Library.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.
MINUTES: Minutes of May 4, 1999 were reviewed and amended to show the dues
increase for the membership year 1999-2000, and were approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Treasurer's Report: Report was given
- Subcommittee reports were given by board members:
- WRITING GH/MC HISTORY - no discussion
- TECHNOLOGY - Newletter is on the website. E-mail can now be sent to us
through the following: ghmchs@hotmail.com The owner is" George Urlin" but
is really to Tom. Several responses have come in including one from CA and
one from CO. 900 hits to the web site have come in. 100 were west of the
Mississippi River. The 98 Tour of Homes brochure is now on and a what's
NEW button has been added.
- MEMBERSHIP - Demographics of paid members: 38 couples, 36 singles, & 20
life. Recommendation was made to carry the no-pays for 1 more newsletter.
Discussion continued on when to delete no-pays from our roster.
- NEWSLETTER -requested that all articles be submitted to Pat by JULY 1,1999.
Review of content can be done at the Aug. board meeting and mailing by 1st
week of Sept. for annual meeting news. The 1st edition was sent to 94 paid
members and organizations and 86 non paid previous members. Discussion on
future content was held.
- OHIO 2003 - Criteria for historic markers was read. Suggestions for Tracy
to submit were discussed. She will try for a June submission to the committee.
- Breezeway: Recommended no content changes more often than once a year.
Tracy will tidy up with push pins and make sure all is in order.
- Memorial Day Parade: Bonnie Jean McCullough, GHS first Homecoming Queen
in 1930, rode in the car.
- Board Community Reps: Reconfirmed the reps to be Tom: schools, Jo Ann:
Chamber, Wayne: GH Council. and Bill: MC Council. Win read Tom's draft of
an introduction letter to Karen Barckert as school district coordinator
and copies were made for all other reps.
- Program Planning:gather information from the founders of the society.
Win is to coordinate with Ann Larrick and Dirk Voelker some ideas for the
Sept. annual meeting. The program will focus on the history of our Historical
Society. Some of our collected artifacts will also be on display.
NEW BUSINESS:
- NO JULY BOARD MEETING Win asked all board members with terms expiring in
Sept. to consider staying on for an additional term.
