Grandview Heights / Marble Cliff Historical Society
Board of Trustees
BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, November 9, 1999
Board members met in the Board meeting room at the Grandview Heights Library.
President Win Keller called the board meeting to order at 7:10 PM in the GH
Library Historical Society room
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
MINUTES: Minutes from the October meeting were reviewed and approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Treasurer's Report: The October report was presented and approved.
- Subcommittee reports were given by board members:
- Membership: Currently 28 couples and 31 single memberships have paid
for the 99-2000 year for a total of 87 members.
- Technology: Discussion regarding the selling of website advertising
banners was re-opened. It was suggested we check if other historical society
websites have banners. Prices for these spaces vary depending on number
of hits at the site. Wayne would like us to look for grant money instead.
The GH library is interested in looking for a joint grant. We have been
averaging 300 hits per month. Tom reported no e-mails have been received
recently. We need to encourage such communication.
- Newsletter: The draft of the next issue was passed out to be reviewed
by the board and all corrections or comments were to be called within
24 hours. Pat asked for help in interviewing residents for articles. The
e-mail address GHMCHS@hotmail.com will be included if room permits. For
the following issue, Pat has requested any ideas or content be submitted
to him by the January 11th meeting.
- Breezeway: Bill and Win will help Tracy with some of the ongoing maintenance
problems.
- OHIO/2003: The application for the Urlin home site was our only one
submitted for the historic marker. 33 applications were received for this
time and 7 or 10 are granted every 3 months. A decision will be made by
11-17-99 for this particular application period. Wayne will talk to Tracy
about how to get the city of Grandview involved in qualifying to receive
a Bicentennial flag.
- Home Tour 2001: Board members made suggestions for homes to include.
Discussion ensued.
- Liaison Report: Nothing to report.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Win again thanked everyone for all the hard work at the annual meeting
and she will write a thank you to Lynn Benson for the student volunteers.
- The following slate of officers was presented: President Win Keller Vice
President Tracy Liberatore Secretary Sally Kosnik Treasurer Jo Ann Curry It
was moved by Wayne and seconded by Pat to accept the slate. Motion passed.
- Tracy has prepared a sign out sheet for our Historical Room to be used by
all who remove any item or items from the room. Upon the return of any item
it will be logged back in. There was very positive discussion as to the need
for this procedure in order to preserve all of our history that has been entrusted
to us as well as to save many hours of searching for something when it is
not found in the files
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. The next Board meeting will
be held on Tuesday evening, Jan 11, 2000 at 7:00 p.m at the GH/MCHS Board Room
of the Grandview Library.
