Annual Meeting

BOARD MEETING MINUTES Sunday, September 19, 1999

The annual public meeting of the GHMC Historical Society was held on Sunday, September 19, 1999, from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Grandview Heights Public Library.

At 2:30 PM President Win Keller opened the meeting and welcomed all to the 25th annual meeting. The slate of board members to be elected to serve 1999-2002 was presented. They are Tom DeMaria, Margie Wilson, and Ruthanne James. Mrs. Sally Pape moved to accept the slate as presented and Mr. R. McKeeever seconded. Motion carried. The 1999-2000 board was introduced: Wayne Carlson, Jo Ann Curry, Tom DeMaria, Ruthanne James, Skip Karlovec, Win Keller, Bill Koch, Sally Kosnik, Tracy Liberatore, Pat Mooney, and Margie Wilson.

As part of the celebration of our 25th year, original members of the organizational steering committee for the society were named and those present were introduced. In attendance at the first planning meeting were Ann Larrick, Mayor Wyman, Virginia Abbot, Win Keller and Dirk Voelker as the attorney for the soon to be historical society. Win Keller and Dirk Voelker were in attendance today. All charter members, life members, and former board members were asked to stand and had a picture taken for our archives.

A brief summary was given as to our plans for participation in the 2003 Bicenntenial Celebration of the State of Ohio. Also, the 8th grade student volunteers assisting with the meeting today were thanked.

Pat Mooney began the program by giving an overview of the accomplishments of the past year. Highlights have been the mailing of 2 issues of the newsletter VIEWPOINTS and the start up of our own GHMC web site. He also presented slides from events during the year 1976.

Pat invited everyone to visit several stations of information located in the library. Our web site, a slide presentation and the Historical Society room were all available to those in attendance.

Mr. R. McKeever moved and Jeri Diehl-Cusack seconded the meeting be adjourned. Motion passed.

Donuts and cider were served by the student volunteers.
