The middle photo is a copy of qa postcard showing the hotel in relation to other downtown buildings,

viewed from the site of the statehouse looking northwest.

The photo at the bottom shows the 1921 Grandview/Marble Cliff/Arlington Fathers' and Sons' Banquet

at the Deshler Hotel. The mothers and daughters were allowed to sit around the railing in the balcony

to watch the evening's event.
